Welcome to our community!
04.04.2021
Dear folks.
welcome to our new blog.
Welcome in our world!
If our current situation had happened 2 years ago, we would not be standing here today.
Since 07/22/2015 we have been having one adventure after another on our property and today we are standing in front of our oceanfront dream house.
But remember, it all began with a dream, realized here in Cape Breton in a camping trailer right in the wilderness near the beach surrounded by moose, coyotes, deer, bald eagles and squirrels.
We can only give you one thing to take with you on your way:
Be careful what you dream – it could come true.
Enjoy and share our journey!

Wonderful stay. Very quiet and comfortable surrounds that give both the comfort of home but at the same time feel like camping. The wonderful owner had messaged me prior to checking in that he was sorry as he had an arrangement to had to go to and left wonderful details on how to self checkin. The next morning we met Christian and had a lovely conversation. If anyone would love a wonderful quiet getaway to de-strsss North shore Retreat is the place to be.
Hi Helen,
thanks for your wonderful words. We feel, that our retreat hits the heart of many guests and this encourages us to continue our journey.

Fantastic accomodation. We really felt at home there. Christian and Regina are great hosts who provided us with lots of useful tipps what to do and to see. It is nice that you can do your own cooking and enjoy the amazing view on the Atlantic Ocean while eating. The kids loved the place too. We can really recommend the place, especially if you plan for a longer stay at Cape Breton.

Hi Wiebke,
we love, what we are doing and we love someone, who understands the beauty of nature and the off-grid dream. You came as a guest and left as a friend.
Thanks
Christian
We arrived tired from a journey and half an hour later swam in the sea with 3 curious seals watching us. We cooked a simple meal, enjoyed the view from the deck and were inspired by thus impressive off the grind project. by Christian and Regina. What a place!
Hey Yvonne,
thanks for your inspiring review. Seals are rare this year, because the population might have gone on vacation to the North, where they have been seen, but they turned back. Off-Grid and an independant and respectful lifestyle is what we all need. What an amazing summer and you were part of it. Let’s have a glass of wine, when you come back. Take care. Christian & Regina
I hope I filled this is correctly it was in German so I’m just guessing I filled in the fields correctly 😊

Hi Amy,
was great to have you here. Looking forward to see you again soon. Having a post celebration with Richy and you. See you soon. Christian & Regina
We booked the off-grid experience pretty much last minute when we arrived at the Island. We loved every minute of it! From the warm welcome to the lengthy conversations. The place is fantastic, and being off-grid while still having electricity, running water and wifi might soften the experience a bit for the city-folk 😀 Thanks again for everything and hopefully we’ll meet again 🙂

Thanks for having us at your wonderful property for a reunion with some good friends. We enjoyed the location and your hospitality a lot. We wish you all the best for the future. See you on one of our next adventures.
We stayed in one of the cabins as a family of three and had a wonderful experience. The cabin was very quiet and peaceful, and one of our favorite things was being able to lie in bed and enjoy the beautiful scenery through the window.
The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful. Since we were a party of three, they went out of their way to bring us extra pillows and blankets, which was such a nice personal touch.
We also loved having access to the private beach. Our child had a great time exploring and playing by the water. And seeing seals nearby was such a wonderful and unexpected surprise!
The location is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for enjoying the natural scenery of the Cabot Trail.
